The inaugural District 1 Bike, Ride and Roll Tour will give residents a different way of discovering the parks within San Jose Council District 1. By traveling at a human-scale speed, residents will gain new appreciation for the roads and trails that connect the D1 parks.

This self-powered journey will start and end at Marijane Hamann Park and will feature stops at many of the parks in District 1.

[Want to go, but don't have or can't operate a bike, let us know, as we are working on alternative modes]

At many of the stops, volunteers from the neighborhood associations associated with that park, will hand out light refreshments to ensure that people stay hydrated and energized.

  1. Approximately 11 miles
  2. With stops at multiple parks
  3. Slow to moderate pace
  4. Please have a safe, functioning bicycle/roller blades or fast legs.  Bring: A working knowledge of bicycle rules, appropriate safety equipment (helmet, please), water. Children must be accompanied by an adult. (see disclaimer)
  5. Stay tuned, as we are looking at different ways people who are unable to ride a bike or don't have a bike can also participate.
